Software Development Bootcamp
If you’re looking to pivot, switch, get started or upskill in your career, our technical bootcamp could be just the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.
This incredible course, delivered in partnership with Code Institute, will take you from zero to tech hero in as little as 16 weeks.
The course begins with an introduction to coding, building proficiency in the most common programming languages and basic tools of the trade, including the principles of Agile development, Bootstrap, Django, JavaScript and more.
The bootcamp offers:
- 16 weeks full-time course with a cohort of like-minded folk
- Fully and part-funded places available
- Job-ready behavioural and technical skills
You must be over the age of 18 and unemployed or employed by a Cornwall or Isles of Scilly-based company to apply. Now taking applications for our next cohort starting on 2 December, 2024.

From general navigation to uploading and sharing documents to creating team and communication sites and pages, this course from the Headforwards Digital Academy will provide an introduction and step by step guidance to using SharePoint in practical ways that can be applied to everyday ways of working.
- Power BI
From general navigation, to connecting data and creating interactive reports, this course covers all the basics required to begin using Power BI and discover how Power BI can enhance reporting and presenting data.
- AI-Action Research
Generative AI, particularly tools such as ChatGPT have now been integrated across all functions, with an initial flurry of excitement around the tech, there was also lots of unrealistic hype. This course from the Headforwards Digital Academy will help you to gain skills in examining and developing your own practice using AI through Action Research. You will identify an issue that you want to address, and you will act collaboratively to address it. Participants will be asked to engage critically with the AI technologies and understand their limitations. You will learn about how the tools can be used effectively and valuably so that you make good decisions around adoption and implementation.
- EdTech – Improving Practice
Every activity in our daily lives has been impacted by tech yet teaching and learning, classrooms and workshops frequently remain stubbornly non-digital. The reality is that tech is not going to transform our classrooms or solve our problems if it is viewed in isolation. This course run by Headforwards Digital Academy aims to widen educators’ perspectives to understand that there are a range of tech options that in the hands of a great teacher, can be transformational. This course will examine evidence based models and aims to give you the confidence in applying EdTech within your teaching environment.
